Amidah means "standing" in Hebrew, and is used for a series of prayers that are recited while standing up. We chose this name to represent our need to stand up to the rise in hatred toward Jewish people in Israel and around the world since the barbaric massacre of October 7th.
The goals of the Amidah Committee are to stand up for the Jewish community of the Capital Region and beyond, to stand up for Israel, and to fight antisemitism and antizionism.
